A master plan for building Smart Bangladesh is being prepared: Secretary
NM Zeaul Alam, senior secretary of ICT department, said that a master plan is being prepared for building a smart Bangladesh. And according to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's concept of inclusive development, neither women nor the physically challenged will be left behind in Bangladesh. No one will be left out.
On the occasion of Girls in ICT Day, the Secretary informed this at a discussion meeting held at ICT Tower on Monday
Jolly Noor Haque, Program Development and Learning Director, Plan International Bangladesh, presented the keynote address at the event hosted by Rukhsana Akter.
Bangladesh Computer Council Executive Director Dr. Mohammad Abdul Mannan presided over the meeting. KM Tariqul Islam, Director General, NGO Affairs Bureau, Khandaker Zahurul Alam, Executive Director, CSID and Dennis O Prayan, Director, Plan International delivered speeches in the function.
At the end of the discussion, Anika Rahman Lipi, Assistant Director, Training Department, CSID, Rezwana Khan, Managing Director, STARTECH and Lafifa Jamal, Professor, Dhaka University were awarded the Persons of the Year.
Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, NM Zeaul Alam, Senior Secretary, ICT Department, said that there are many opportunities for women to be included in technology. In this case, more inclusion is required in the STEM education system among female students. And since women are the main target of hackers; everyone has to work together on online safety of girls.
He also said that the Department of Information and Technology will always be by their side to celebrate the day before making necessary guidelines to take initiative to celebrate Girls in ICT Day nationally. With women, Bangladesh will be established as a smart Bangladesh before 2041, said the senior secretary.
According to sources, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already signed the working paper of the third meeting of 'Digital Bangladesh Task Force' with 14 decisions to implement 14 action plans with the vision of 'Smart Bangladesh-2041'.
State Minister for Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak presented 'Smart Bangladesh Vision-2041' at the meeting. Where he gave presentations on smart education, smart healthcare, smart agriculture, smart commerce, smart transportation etc. as per the vision of Digital Bangladesh 2021. It has been informed that this 'Smart Bangladesh Task Force' will be formed under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with the vision of Smart Bangladesh-2041 to establish Bangladesh as a knowledge based economy and innovative nation through the Department of Information Technology.
